About Breckland

The Breckland District covers an area of 11,305 square kilometers and is one of the largest rural districts in England. With an estimated 4,500 businesses based in the area which offers a unique rural setting with a thriving and diverse business community.

There are five main market towns Attleborough, Dereham, Swaffham, Thetford and Watton and 108 rural parishes. 1.5 millions visitors are attracted to the region every year making use of the leisure and business opportunities available across the towns and rural settings.

Situated close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border and within easy access of the East of England’s major transport routes Breckland is home to some of the country’s leading business names including Jeyes, Multiyork, Baxter Healthcare, Snetterton Race Tack and Tulip International.

Ongoing initiatives to establish a stronger business economy includes the Rural Enterprise Valley Project – Rev, a multi-million pound investment designed to grow a cluster of like minded businesses within the A11 corridor specialising in motorsport and advanced engineering and building on the expertise currently of strength in the area.

Another recent development involves the awarding of Growth Point Status to Thetford, enabling the area to reinvent itself through investment in the infrastructure of the area.
