This qualification is designed to get managers and supervisors, from any sector, up to speed on the practical actions needed to make health and safety “happen” in their teams. IOSH is the professional association for safety and health practitioners, with a global name to back up their courses.

Mental Health First Aid

Our Mental Health First Aid course will be taking place on 5th & 6th July at our training venue No.8 Thorpe Road in Norwich.

This two day course is the mental health equivalent of physical first aid training and provides delegates with the skills and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety - 27th April

The course (the revised and re-branded Basic / Foundation Course) is a must have qualification for all employees in the Food and Hospitality sector.

The course will enable delegates to:
- Take personal responsibility for food safety procedures
- Keep themselves clean and hygienic
- Receive and store food safely
- Prepare, cook and hold food safely
- Assessing and evaluating the learning

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work - 15th May

This one day course is a must have qualification for all employees who are designated First Aiders.

The course will introduce delegates to...
- The roles and responsibilities of a First Aider.
- The legal requirements for First Aid provision.
- The importance of accurate incident reporting and how to assess an incident
- The need to minimize the risk of infection.
- The importance of assessing the incident.
- Undertaking a Primary Survey.

This course delivers the official Health and Safety Executive/HABC syllabus with one of the most
experienced first aid trainers in Norfolk.

Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety - 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th & 18th May Exam Date: Friday 22nd June

Learning Outcomes:
On completing this course candidates will be able to:
- Guide and advise on the management of food safety in a business.
- Contribute to the management of food safety in a catering or manufacturing business.
- Identify further technical knowledge necessary in food safety management procedure.
- Determine further training requirements.
- Identify areas for legal compliance.
- Determine good practice.
- Design an improvement plan.
- Promote and encourage good standards of food safety.
- Liaise with enforcement officers.
- Deliver level 1 and 2 food hygiene training (with appropriate training skills).

Minimum Teaching Time: 36 hours, which is achieved over the 5 days, in a small group. You must have 80% attendance. 6th day is required for exam & assignments

Assessment Format: This qualification is assessed through a 2-part examination. Part one is a 30-question multiple-choice examination (30 marks)
Part 2 is a written examination where learners choose 4 from 6 questions. The total mark available in the section is 70marks. The duration of the examination is 2.5hours
