New LIFT funding available for rural businesses to improve skills and employability

You may have heard that Norfolk County Council has just launched their LIFT grant schemes which are funded by the European Social Fund.

Readers may be particularly interested in the LIFT Skills grants that are available for personalised support and training for employees of rural SME businesses - anything from basic skills to higher level qualifications (with the exception of mandatory training).

Grants of up to 50% support and training costs are available and as a guideline we expect to offer grants of £5k - £50k.

We know that rural businesses often struggle to recruit staff in the first place and so LIFT Jobs can also fund projects that will grow the potential rural workforce by helping people to gain the skills and confidence to be ready for work. Tailored support and incentives for a local SME businesses to offer work trials to those with little or no experience is also something we can fund through LIFT Trials
For more information check out our website www.liftprogramme.co.uk

You can also email the LIFT team at lift@norfolk.gov.uk

The final decision on grant applications will be made by five Local Action Groups: they are: Wensum and Coast LAG, Waveney Valley LAG, West Norfolk LAG, Brecks LAG and Broads LAG. The area each covered by each LAG can be found on our website

The LAGs are experienced grant-giving bodies passionate about delivering for their local communities and have a high level of local expertise. They provide the community leadership at the heart of LIFT.
